Introduction

Introduction

In Gödöllő, our town, there was a school run by the local Calvinist (Reformed) congregation already in 1927, which was taken from the church after WWII  and run by the state until 1992, when it was given back to the local congregation again, who then founded a middle-school/high school. We celebrated our 30-year jubilee in 2022.

The school has a six-year program with two classes and a four-year program with one class. Our school is located in the heart of Gödöllő, next to the Reformed congregation’s church building. About 500 students study here from 7th grade to 12th grade.

Life as a Student

Getting up so early for school, and learning for all those subjects is pretty tiring especially since many students attend music lessons, extra classes, or belong to a sport club or a dance or drama group where they pursue their hobbies, achieving some great results in these areas. But being a student at the Lyceum has a special feeling - you know you belong here and you can be part of a special close-knit, inpsiring community that celebrates unique talents, arts and Hungarian culture, student initiatives, and which enjoys fun. Also, if you love God, you can celebrate Him in an honest and free way among us.

School events

We have typical school events that you can expect from a high school like school trips and proms, but there is so much more! Over the years we have created a range of special events on our own that you will not find anywhere else, such as the overnight hiking competition that has grown into a national event for all the church-schools in Hungary, the all-night football championship, or the Folk-tradition Day, and the list goes on.
